How can I be sure I receive a correct translation?

Translation services differ in exactitude, accuracy, precision and clarity. It always pays to find out what is included in the service and which measures the service provider applies to assure translation quality. First, one must make sure that it is a translation bureau conducting contextual editing of the text (beyond just proofreading), not merely an agency that is simply an intermediary between the customer and the translator.

In our bureau the exactitude of translation is ensured by a multistage work process that comprises terminological editing, proofreading, text layout/formatting, etc. We have numerous translators, each a specialist in a different field: we choose the translator who masters the topic and the language pair the best. But this is only the start: next, all our translations will be scrutinized by our expert in-house editors.

Sometimes the finest nuances can be ascertained best only by yourself since you know your product or work process in depth. We welcome feedback from you.

How long does it take to translate my text?

It depends on the length of the text. One translator can properly translate about five pages of text per day. Ideally, one translator translates the entire text as a whole. After finishing it, the editor starts his/her work. But if the client is in a hurry or the work is extremely large, we can always work collaboratively employing several translators or editors for your text. In that case, where multiple persons work on the same translation, our database helps to ensure uniformity of the text. In the case of urgent orders we speed things up — though in such cases it is not always possible to check the work with our usual meticulous care.

Will our company’s term usage be considered?

By all means it will! We have a system to permanently register all your wishes and we consider them with every work. When we receive a translation order we try to find out as much as we can about your preferences and requested term usage. To that end, we ask you to feel free to enclose glossaries or related texts — any text you think would help us to translate your work perfectly is something we would gladly look at as supplementary material to support the proper translation of your work.

Our care does not end after completing the work; we remain interested in receiving feedback about the suitability of the text and the use of terms expected by you.

Will you make corrections to the finished work for free?

Yes, if you have found more appropriate terms and expressions. Then we will know your wishes better for future work.

Note

In some cases the translated text may not always exactly suit you, for example if the source text is outdated or requires adjustment to local conditions. Therefore, the final text may need improvements that only the customer him/herself can make. Naturally, you have the right to add anything to the material and to make changes in style and preference according to your taste. These are changes that vary from the initial material we had to translate and so cannot be done by us.

Can I get a discount on ordering a material similar to the one previously translated by you?

Certainly you can. Previously translated materials can always be brought up to date, be it the new version of the manual or changing a contract’s text. Our archive of translation documents allows us to use previous texts operatively.
